I don't like Pearl Jam

So I've joined another band, finally hooking up with a uni buddy I've always wanted to work with. He's one of those guys that just seems to knock out songs by the dozen.

Trouble is, he and the singer are going through a Pearl Jam wannabe period, so they're trying to make everything we do sound like Pearl Jam.

But I don't *like* Pearl Jam.

On top of that fact, I specifically don't like singers and bands that try to sound like Pearl Jam. I consider them the musical equivalent of bloggers like this one. Siiiigh.

So what's a man to do? I love the guys, the guitarist is a longstanding and trusted friend, the playing ability is there and the songs are fantastic. They've got a fully outfitted Pro Tools studio right there to rehearse and record in - after getting together twice we've already cut a demo. And what's more, I bet other people will really enjoy the stuff we're doing. I bet if *you* heard it, you'd like it.

And you'd probably tell me it reminds you of Pearl Jam.

Fuckin grunge. I wanna play in Stevie Wonder's band.
