| 12:44 p.m., 24.06.04 Well, the new housemate has moved in, and we're already into our little period of adjustment. It's been nice having the house just to ourselves and Ya, who tends to be home just a few days a week but is a total legend. The newbie is a 20 year old chick who got the gig because of her sparkling personality and despite the following warning blinkers:
Nonetheless, she's very bubbly and sweet and enthusiastic, and personality goes a long way when you've been interviewing a steady stream of weirdos, stoners and overseas students who seem to expect room service to come with the deal. Nous felt the first niggle yesterday afternoon when she got home and the TV was blaring in the lounge while K was asleep in bed. Not a biggie there. I began the shock of adjustment at 3.30 this morning when she came home from work with an unidentified male, rooted him twice with considerable vigour, chatted loudly about dance steps, got up, drove him home and returned to go to bed at about 5.45am. I should mention that our bedrooms share a wood-panelled wall, quite thin enough to overhear a conversation, let alone a feisty boudoir pounding. I could hear every slap of her panting companion's ballbag. I felt sorry for Ya as well, who was obviously woken by the same rhythmic spectacle, and who stumbled out of bed and wandered off to the john halfway through. I nearly woke Nous up for a quick warning pork in response, half to let K know what sort of noise levels she's dealing with, and half because hearing people on the job always gets me a bit horny. But Nous has been running behind on sleep lately due to the whole "work" thing, so I let it go. So I'm very dazed and confused today, completely buggered and hoping I can get a good few Z's away tonight. |
